The world premiere of the ballet "Calliope" is coming
With tonight's world premiere of the ballet "Calliope" of the State Opera - Ruse, the program of the 63. International Festival "March Music Days" continues. The play in two acts is the work of a famous team of like-minded people and will become a kind of culmination of this year's edition.
In 2023, the audience of the festival was able to hear for the first time the music written by maestro Emil Tabakov. In the current stage realization of one of the most charming Ruse urban legends – that of Calliope and Mithad Pasha, the world-famous choreographer Konstantin Uralski and the author of the libretto – Alexander Malchev, a former member of the Ruse Ballet Company, are also involved. The production team is completed by two famous and talented ladies from Ruse - set designer Elitsa Georgieva and one of Ruse's well-known faces in the field of stage costume and fashion design - Parvoleta Chavdarova - Letitsia. Concertmaster is Smilyana Lozanova. The cast includes Irena Barbukova (Calliope), Giuseppe Sorrentino (Mithad Pasha), Thiago Victor da Silva Oliveira (Sabri Pasha), with Vesela Vasileva as director.
On Tuesday, for the first time in our country, the world-renowned French-Belgian quartet "Danel" will take the stage at the 63. MF "March Music Days". The ensemble is distinguished by a fresh and lively vision of the traditional quartet repertoire. The program includes authors and works that are a kind of trademark of the quartet. The string quartets of Weinberg, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven are always a treat for classical music lovers.
This year Ruse's choir "Prof. Vasil Arnaudov" with conductor Svilen Dimitrov celebrates 30 years on stage. This is the reason that this Wednesday in the Europe Hall, the audience will experience an extremely diverse program in terms of style, including music from the old masters to modern times - a format that seems to return us to what was inherited from their patron - the irreplaceable Bulgarian conductor and teacher Prof. Vasil Arnaudov.
The 63rd edition of the International Festival "March Music Days" is organized by the Municipality of Ruse under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.
