Giorgi Gigashvili, Dimitar Kosev and the Ruse Philharmonic will close the 63rd MF "March Music Days" on Sunday

After the brilliant performance of the "Sofia Soloists" Chamber Ensemble with conductor Konstantin Dobroikov and soloists Nikolay and Mincho Minchevi last night, tonight another emblematic orchestra for Bulgaria is a guest at "March Musical Days". With the concert of the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Georgi Dimitrov, the festival provides another opportunity to meet the highly gifted Bulgarian pianist Emanuil Ivanov with the attractive First Piano Concerto by S. Prokofiev. The famous Adagio from Khachaturian's Spartacus ballet awaits us - a kind of hymn to pure, beautiful, all-conquering and endless love, as well as Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 9, which was banned and "arrested" until 1955.

On Saturday, the world-renowned Bulgarian musicians Albena Danailova, Alexander Somov and Nadezhda Vlaeva will show their class in a rare musical collaboration. A bouquet of emotions awaits the audience with the varied program, including music by Jean-Philippe Rameau, Astor Piazzolla's famous Primavera porteña and the fiery Piano Trio in D major by Jean Français. And towards the end of the evening, we will touch on Lily Boulanger's masterpiece "Of a Spring Morning", as well as the sorrowful lyrical beauty in Maurice Ravel's famous piano trio.

The 63rd edition of the MF "March Music Days" ends with the debut of the renowned Georgian pianist Giorgi Gigashvili as a soloist of the Ruse Philharmonic under the direction of its chief conductor Dimitar Kosev. Young and energetic, Kosev and Gigashvili will also share the joy of playing music together in the famous First Piano Concerto by J. Brahms. The program also includes the anthemic Rhapsody "Vardar" by the patriarch of Bulgarian music P. Vladigerov, and at the absolute finale of this year's edition of the festival, one of Dvořák's brightest symphonies - the Eighth, often described as bucolic euphoria - will be performed.
