Jazz, Beethoven, young talents and a "trombone attraction" in the upcoming concerts of "March Music Days"
With today's concert by the jazzmen Veselin Veselinov-Eko and Milen Kukosharov, the program of the 63rd MF "March Music Days" continues. Despite the name of their duet Das Weltschmerz DueTT ("peaceful sorrow"), the mastery of the two always arouses delight in the audience. "Consequences" is the second album of the chamber duo, a consequence of the courage, musical growth and improvisational thinking that Eko and Kukosharov share. This Friday we will be able to hear both works by Rachmaninoff and Satie, as well as original compositions by the two talented musicians.
On Saturday, at 11 a.m., the canceled screening of the film "Rodina - the Choir of Ruse" will take place in the Meeting Hall of Regional Library "Lyuben Karavelov". The project is the work of the "RUSEFILM" Group at the "Zora - 1866" Community Center on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the festival in Llangollen, Wales. In 1988, at this international forum, the "Rodina" Choir won all the first prizes in the categories in which it participated, as well as the "Choir of the World" Grand Prize.
At 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Income Building, the world-famous pianist Elena Bashkirova, the conductor Nayden Todorov and the Sofia Philharmonic will immerse the festival audience in the lyrical world of Beethoven. Saturday's concert will feature Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 4, distinguished by the extraordinary lyrical beauty of the piano part. And the rest of the program of the Sofia Philharmonics will bring out from the shadow of the famous 3rd and 5th symphonies the wonderful, with its classical vitality, Beethoven's Fourth Symphony.
Sunday morning is the time for the long-awaited Gala concert of the winners of the "Franz Schubert" International Competition, the organizer of which is the NUI "Prof. Veselin Stoyanov". The 2023 edition featured particularly strong participants, and now the laureates can't wait to take to the festival stage. The concert will feature works by Chopin, Handel, Beethoven, Schubert and more. performed by Boris Dyulgerov (piano), Veronika Ilieva (piano), Petra Tsarnorechka (soprano), Ariel Yuhyun Chon (soprano), Stoyan Buyukliev (tenor) and the piano duo Diana Chausheva (violin) and Viktor Vasilev (piano).
At 7 p.m., the concert of the Viennese quartet Viena Trombone Attraction begins. They will perform for the first time in front of a Bulgarian audience. The musicians will present their premiere program Pictures of Life, which has collected the best musical and stage moments from the more than 15-year history of the group. The program will also surprise with fun staging solutions developed together with Ferdinando Cefalo (choreographer and director), which is a promise of a complete instrumental spectacle.
