Hristo Yotsov - Zodiak |
“Zodiac” is a twelve-movement chamber jazz suite by the renowned drummer, composer, and jazz musician Hristo Yotsov, created in collaboration with a number of well-known musicians. The project is built around an idea by producer Mario Krastev as a musical letter to the Japanese writer Haruki Murakami. The music was composed by Hristo Yotsov, who wrote the twelve pieces in 2024.
The project is an inspiring musical journey through the twelve zodiac signs. Each composition reveals a distinctive character and mood, ranging from delicate lyricism to explosive energy. The works seamlessly blend a contemporary jazz sound with improvisation and emotional depth, drawing on the personal impressions of Yotsov and Mario Krastev.
Through these twelve pieces, Yotsov achieves a balanced symbiosis between jazz and chamber music, to a large extent thanks to the contribution of the participating musicians, whose artistic paths are rooted in diverse musical genres.
The project features the musicians of the Sofia Quartet, alongside established jazz and multi-genre artists from the Bulgarian music scene.
