Vera Girginova, soprano

Vera Girginova simultaneously graduated as an architect and as a classical singer from  the National Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Mila Dylgerova. She is a laureate of a number of competitions, including: for young opera singers Gena Dimitrova (2009), European Community in Spoleto (Italy, 2010 and the International Singing Competition Elena Nikolay (2013). She develops her vocal technique with some of the biggest Bulgarian and Italian opera names (Renata Scotto, Fiorenza Cosotto, Raina Kabaivanska, Anna Tomova-Sintova, Darina Takova, Stefka Evstatieva, Anna Vandi, Mirella Paruto, etc.).

She specialized in Italy: first as a scholarship holder at the Boris Hristov Academy in Rome, then at the Kidzana Academy in Siena with a scholarship from the Raina Kabaivanska Fund, and in the period 2010–2012 she became a scholarship holder at the prestigious Opera Studio at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome, where she studied under the famous Renata Scotto. Girginova is currently a full-time soloist of the State Opera - Plovdiv.

Among the roles she performs on stage are: Mozart's Donna Anna and Donna Elvira from Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi from As Everyone Does, Countess Rosina from The Marriage of Figaro; Rosina from Rossini's The Barber of Seville; Verdi's Violetta from La Traviata, Gilda from Rigoletto and Nanetta from Falstaff; Puccini's Lauretta from Gianni Scicchi and Musetta from Bohemia; Tatyana from Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Adela from Strauss's The Bat, and others.
