Radostina Nikolaeva, sopran

Radostina Nikolaeva is one of the most outstanding young performers on the stage of the National Opera and Ballet. She was born in Ruse, where she graduated from the Veselin Stoyanov School of Music in 1994, and then from the Music Academy in Sofia, in the singing class of Prof. Irena Brambarova. In 2006, she attented the master class of Anna Tomova-Sintova. She made her debut on the stage of State Opera Ruse with the role of Donna Elvira in "Don Juan" by Mozart (1998), and in 2003 she won a competition for a soloist at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, which began her brilliant career as a first soprano in our most prestigious opera house theater.

At the beginning of 2004, Radostina Nikolaeva made memorable debuts on the Sofia stage in the roles of Liu from Turandot, Leonora from The Troubadour and Amelia from Verdi's Masked Ball. After working with the world-famous Belgian conductor Kuhn Kessels in the Troubadour performance, he invited her to perform the soprano part in Verdi's Requiem, which opened the Eighth Easter Festival at the Opera House. Within the framework of the festival, Radostina Nikolaeva made her debut in the role of Anne Boleyn in the concert performance of Donizetti's opera of the same name - premiere for Bulgaria.

Her rich repertoire also includes the central soprano parts in the masterpieces of the operatic classics: Michaela in "Carmen" by Bizet, Desdemona in "Othello", Violetta in "La Traviata" and "Aida" in "Aida" by Verdi, Mimi in "Bohème" by Puccini , Neda in "Pagliacci" by Leoncavallo, Antonia in "Hoffmann's Tales" by Offenbach and many others.

A very important place in the development of Radostina as a singer is also the parts in less frequently performed works such as Maria from "Tsar Kaloyan" by Vladigerov, Kosara from the opera of the same name by Maestro Atanasov, Dido from "Dido and Aeneas" by Purcell, Zemfira from "Aleko ” by Rachmanimov, Yaroslavna from “Prince Igor” by Borodin and others.

He toured in opera performances and festivals in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Japan, Russia and other countries, as well as on the stages of all Bulgarian opera houses.

The opera prima has many awards and honors in her biography, including awards from the national competition "Prof. Hristo Brambarov" (2001), the International Competition for Young Opera Singers "Boris Hristov" (2004), the International Competition "Ottavio Ziino" (2005). She won both the highest awards - First Prize and Audience Award at the international competition "Premio Spiros Argiris 9 Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Cantanti Lirici" (2008). For the role of Amelia in "Ball with Masks" she was awarded the Crystal Lyre Award in 2009.

The great passion of the singer is music. But not only the classic! She likes jazz, Brazilian and Spanish rhythms. Music brings her comfort and fuels her for new professional peaks.
