Recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including some of the most significant competitions such as Geneva, ARD – Munich, and Markneukirchen, Baborák has also been honored with a Grammy Award for classical music and the Dawidov Prize. At the age of 18, Baborák was appointed principal horn of the Czech Philharmonic—without a competition—due to his exceptional qualities.
Since then, his name has been consistently associated (always as principal horn) with the Munich Philharmonic, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and, between 2003 and 2010, with the legendary Berlin Philharmonic. Baborák has worked with numerous world-renowned conductors, performed as a soloist with the most famous orchestras in the world, and recorded CDs for companies such as EMI, Supraphon, Exton, Arte Nova, Artesmon, and Animal Music. The concert opening the Winter Olympic Games in Nagano marked the beginning of his long-standing collaboration with Seiji Ozawa. He is the founder and leader of the “Baborák Ensemble,” which will be touring Bulgaria and is composed of some of the best Czech musicians.
