Pit Tanapat is a finalist of the international singing competition Neue Stimmen 2022, winner of the 2nd prize at the 26th international Ferruccio Tagliavini competition, and a finalist at the 40th international Belvedere singing competition in 2022. He was also a finalist at the 6th international Otto Edelmann competition and won the Perry Nelson award at the 11th international Hilde Zadek singing competition in 2019.
In 2023, he participated in SWR Junge Opernstars in Kaiserslautern and Landau. He also performed the role of Mario in the opera Gianni Schicchi at the Bregenz Festival. In 2024, he took part in a masterclass with the legendary Kammersängerin Brigitte Fassbender in Austria. In the summer of 2023, he sang the role of the Woodcutter in the production of Die Königskinder at the Tyrolean Festival. During 2023/2024, he performed the following roles: The One-Armed Man in Die Frau ohne Schatten, Quinault in Adriana Lecouvreur, Larkens in La fanciulla del west, and Don Pedro in Béatrice et Bénédict.
In the 2022/2023 season, he sang with great success the role of Biterolf in Wagner’s opera Tannhäuser at the opera house in Lyon. He also performed the roles of Phanuel and the Grand Priest in Massenet’s opera Hérodiade. He participated in several opera productions, performing the roles of Tsar Ivan, the Inquisitor, Krupé, and the Gentleman in the opera Candide, concluding the season with the role of Antonio in The Marriage of Figaro.
During his stay in Salzburg as a participant in the Young Singers project, he played the role of the Devil in the new production of The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs by Stefan Hanke. He also performed in a public masterclass with the famous Scottish accompanist Malcolm Martineau and worked with the Polish professor Piotr Beczala.
In 2014, he debuted in the roles of Spinelloccio and Nataio in the opera Gianni Schicchi at the fortress of Bergen in Norway as part of the Summer Opera Festival. He has participated in various university productions, including the role of the Count in The Marriage of Figaro, Otho in The Coronation of Poppea, Marcello in La Bohème, and Belcore in L’elisir d’amore. He is regularly invited to sing as a soloist at the Salzburg Cathedral.
Pit began studying music in Thailand at the age of 15. At 18, he moved to Salzburg, where he completed his musical education. He speaks Thai, English, German, and has basic knowledge of Italian. Currently, he is studying French and Russian.
