Krasimir Shterev, violin 13.01.2026
Krasimir Shterev is a concertmaster violinist with the Varna State Opera.
He graduated from the National School of Music and Dance Arts “Dobrin Petkov” in Plovdiv in the violin class of Elena Doikova, and from the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts “Prof. Asen Diamandiev” in Plovdiv, where he studied under Prof. Nedelcho Todorov.
In 1990, he founded the student string quartet “Forte,” which he led until 1993, performing extensively in Bulgaria, England, France, Switzerland, and Germany. From 1993 to 1996, he worked as an orchestral musician with the Plovdiv State Philharmonic, and from 2003 to 2006 he was a member of the Austrian Vienna Walzer Orchestra. Since 2004, he has been part of the Opera and Philharmonic Society – Varna, performing with the Varna Chamber Orchestra and the “Simfonieta” Orchestra, both of which he leads as concertmaster.
In 2009, he won the national competition for concertmaster of the Varna State Opera, and since 2012 he has also served as concertmaster of the chamber orchestra Camerata Orphica under the direction of Mario Hossen.
Krasimir Shterev’s performances as concertmaster or soloist in numerous symphonic and chamber concerts of the Varna State Opera, the Varna Summer International Music Festival, and other festivals—both in Bulgaria and abroad—are distinguished by a profound interpretation of the score, a beautiful tone, and virtuosic technique.
