Dimitar Georgiev, one of the founders of "Sofia Soloists", sees in Vassilev an extraordinary ease of playing, which even great accomplished pianists would envy. And Svetlana Slivinskaya, a music critic from St. Petersburg, calls Ivaylo's appearance in the music world "divine providence", similar to the appearance of Glenn Gould, and describes Bach's music in his performance as unheard of beauty and deep philosophy, causing rapture and meditative reflection, discovering new cosmic depths in the great composer's music.
