Signum Saxophone Quartet joins forces with the distinguished Georgian pianist Giorgi Gigashvili in a chamber concert that brings together the rich timbral palette of the saxophone ensemble and the piano.
Internationally acclaimed, the quartet is renowned for its virtuosity, stylistic versatility, and creative arrangements. Their masterful control over the instruments and the ensemble’s unmistakable originality demonstrate that four saxophones can sound like a full orchestra.
Giorgi Gigashvili is a young Georgian pianist, born in 2000 in Tbilisi. He began playing the piano without initially intending to pursue a professional career, and at just 13 he won the Georgian edition of The Voice, performing folk and pop songs. Giorgi’s career as a pianist took a major leap in 2009, when he won first prize at the Vigo International Piano Competition.
Today he is a laureate of prestigious international awards, including Second Prize at the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition (2023).
The program of the five musicians features compositions by Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich, Bernstein, E. Beach, and Leitinger, promising a musical experience marked by virtuoso performances and refined interpretations of classical music. A special repertoire that blends classical masterpieces with innovative adaptations created for this collaboration.
