The Romanian National Orchestra will take part in the 65th edition of the International Music Festival March Music Days under the baton of Romania’s leading conductor Cristian Mandeal.
The orchestra, one of the brightest representatives of Balkan musical culture, brings together Romania’s most talented young musicians and has established itself as an elite symphonic formation, performing on prestigious stages across Europe, including Rome, Milan, Berlin, Vienna, and many others. Composed of young and promising musicians, the orchestra visits Ruse and the festival for the first time to offer the audience an emotionally captivating musical experience.
The program traces a compelling arc, combining contemporary works with rich classical orchestral compositions.
Immersion by A. Petrache is a contemporary symphonic musical odyssey, created very recently and premiered in January 2025. Bulgarian audiences will have the opportunity to hear this intriguing composition for the first time.
Brahms’s Concerto for Violin, Cello and Orchestra unfolds a rich dialogue between the two solo instruments and the orchestra, combining symphonic depth with chamber-like intimacy.
Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 is a vibrant musical work inspired by Bohemian folk music and the beauty of the Czech countryside. The symphony impresses with its spontaneity, songful character, and sense of freedom.
The soloists in the concert of the Romanian National Orchestra are the beloved Svetlin Rusev and the outstanding cellist Julian Steckel who is appearing in Bulgaria for the first time.
