Georgi Georgiev was born in Ruse in 1974. He graduated from high school with a specialization in Woodcarving in Teteven, followed by Sculpture under Prof. Velichko Minekov at VTU “St. Cyril and St. Methodius,” and continued his studies at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia in the class of Prof. Emil Popov.
Georgiev works with wood, stone, metal, and cast iron. He embraces improvisation in sculpture, akin to jazz musicians. Most of his large-scale projects have been realized in China, where over ten monumental works of his are installed. He has held more than ten solo exhibitions and participated in the National Exhibition-Competition for Contemporary Visual Arts “Contempo” 2024 in Ruse, presenting works inspired by music.
