Viktoria Vassilenko, piano

Viktoria Vasilenko graduated from Natioanal music school "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, in the piano class of Antonina Boneva (1999-2003) and prof. Stella Dimitrova-Maystorova (2003-2011). She received a Bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Music of the New Bulgarian University. In parallel, she graduated from the "Queen Sofia" College of Music, Madrid under Prof. Dmitry Bashkirov and the Piano Academy "Lago di Como" in Italy. In 2021, she completed a specialization at the Queen Elizabeth College of Music, Waterloo (Belgium) in the class of Prof. Louis Lorti and Avedis Koyumjian, and in June 2019 she also completed a master's degree at the Brussels Music Academy under prof. Boyan Vodenicharov. Since 2020, she has been a part-time teacher in the piano department at the Faculty of Performing Arts and a doctoral student at the Pancho Vladigerov Academy of Music. In 2021, Viktoria received the scientific and educational degree "Doctor of Musicology and Musical Art". Since July 2019, she has been a guest teacher of piano and chamber music at the Musica Mundi Summer Music Academy and Festival in Waterloo, Belgium.

 

During the period 2016/2018, Viktoria became the first prize winner of the international competition "Gorge Enescu" (Bucharest, Romania). She is the winner of the "Musical Thursdays" piano competition-festival (Geneva, Switzerland) and the winner of the prestigious "Golden Age" award for a young musician who has contributed to culture and art in Bulgaria. In 2020, she was awarded the "Golden Feather" and became the winner of the grand prize of the "13 Centuries Bulgaria" donation fund. He is also the winner of the "Crystal Lyre" for a young performer for the 2007-2008 and 2011-2012 concert seasons. Nominated for Young Musician of the Year in 2009. In January 2009, she became the Laureate of the Grand Prize of Dimitar Berbatov’s Foundation for excellence in the field of arts. She is a scholarship recipient of the "Yordan Kamdjalov" fund for young talents, "1000 scholarships", "America for Bulgaria" Foundation and the "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" Foundation.

In April 2017, Viktoria was invited to be a member of the jury at the International Competition for the Performance of German and Austrian Music in Burgas. In the same year, 2017, she conducted a master class at National school of music and theater "Dobrin Petkov", Plovdiv as part of the International Music Festival "Days of Music in the Balaban House", and in 2020 she led a Master Class at the Conservatory in Cluj (Romania) within "Gorge Enescu" biannual festival.

Viktoria has performed on stages such as BOZAR, Flagey, Chateau du Lac, Ghent Opera House, Piano's Maene (Belgium), Alte Oper (Frankfurt, Germany), Auditorio Nacional (Madrid) and Palau de Musica (Barcelona, Spain), Atheneum (Bucharest, Romania), Teatro de la Maestranza (Seville, Spain), NYUAD Art center (Abu Dhabi) and many others.

 

She was a soloist with the Brussels Chamber Orchestra, the Walloon Chamber Orchestra (conductor Frank Brale), the Royal Seville Philharmonic Orchestra (conductor John Axelrod), the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra (USA), the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (England), the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, the Biel Symphony Orchestra (Switzerland), with whom she recorded a CD released by Fuga Libera in November 2020, for the "Mozart double concertos" project together with Louis Lorti and many others.
