Rosen Idealov is a graduate of Varna Music School "D. Hristov” and the National Music Academy“ Prof. P. Vladigerov ”- Sofia, in the class of Prof. Sava Dimitrov on clarinet and Prof. Konstantin Chilev - chamber music. Participates in master classes of Aurelian-Octave Popa in contemporary music and interpretation.
Since 2006 Rosen Idealov has been an assistant at the Department of Chamber Music and Accompaniment at the National Music Academy “P. Vladigerov ”and lecturer in chamber music, clarinet, and orchestral playing at NMU“ L. Pipkov ”Sofia since 1999. In April 2021 he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Department of Chamber Music and Accompaniment at the National Music Academy“ P. Vladigerov ”.
He is a laureate of the Seventh All-Bulgarian Competition for Singers and Instrumentalists (1984) in clarinet and chamber music. In 1999 at the international competitions "Music and the Earth" and "Young Virtuosos" - Sofia he was awarded the prize for pedagogical achievements. In 2005 he received the Golden Five Line Award for high artistic achievements and contribution to the spread of Bulgarian music. He has twice won the Golden Lyre Award of the SMDTB - in 2009 and 2019, for excellence in the performing arts and high pedagogical achievements. In 2012 for the CD "Dialogues" and the concert promotion he received the award "Crystal Lyre" of SMTDB in the category of Chamber Music together with the cellist Georgita Boyadzhieva.
Rosen Idealov has been actively performing for 40 years as a soloist and chamber musician at home and abroad - Italy, USA, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Russia, Slovakia, Hungary, China, Korea, Romania, Macedonia, and others. His repertoire includes over 650 works from the Renaissance to the present day.
He was a soloist of the best Bulgarian symphony, chamber, and wind orchestras. He has participated on the stage of the most prestigious international music forums and festivals - Wien Modern, Triest Prima, "Varna Summer", "Sofia Music Weeks", "March Music Days", "Salon of Arts", "Apollonia", Musica Nova, " Sound and connection "- Sofia and others.
He is extremely sought after as a performer of contemporary music. Over 250 musical works have been written for him by prominent Bulgarian composers of different generations. He was a soloist of the most symphony, chamber, and wind orchestras in Bulgaria - Sofia Philharmonic, Sofia University of the Bulgarian National Radio, Chamber Ensemble "Sofia Soloists" and many others.
His studio recordings for the Bulgarian National Radio and Television are numerous. There are over 16 CDs. He teaches master classes and lectures at universities in the United States. He is the author of many adaptations for wind ensembles. In 2015 he created the Duo Clarisax with saxophonist Goran Goshev, making a series of world premieres of music created for the ensemble.
