Milen Kukosharov, piano

Milen Kukosharov was born in Plovdiv in 1978. He graduated from the Dobrin Petkov School of Music with a major in piano. At this age he won the national competition for young instrumentalists "Svetoslav Obretenov". He continued his education at the National Academy of Music in Sofia. Famous for his virtuoso improvisations, Milen Kukosharov is one of the most sought-after and best-known performers in Bulgaria. He is the arranger of the solo concerts of Maria Ilieva and Orlin Pavlov. Together with Veselin Veselinov - Eko (double bass) is a member of the chamber duo "Das Weltschmerz DueTT", with which they created the albums "ImproviSatie" and "Consequences".

In recent years, Milen Kukosharov has expanded his professional interests as a composer in the field of classical music, theater and cinema. His works are "Chromantic Fantasia" (a piece for piano and string orchestra), "Concerto for two trumpets and orchestra", "Spring tales" (a cycle of chamber pieces for cello and piano), as well as music for theater performances: "Special Occasions"- Youth Theater "Nikolai Binev", "Cold from here"- Theatre of the Bulgarian Army, "Mr. Night"- Theater "199", "Nirvana"- Theater "199", "Three Sisters"- "Vazrazhdane" Theater ("Askeer" award for theater music 2023), "DNA", Croatia, "Garvin the magician" ("Icarus" award for the best puppet show by Blagoevgrad Puppet Theater) etc. Milen Kokusharov actively works with playwright Yana Borisova in joint theater and film projects.
