Milen Bozhkov was born in Varna, Bulgaria. The tenor graduated from the Music Academy "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" Sofia and specialized in opera art at the University of Music - Graz, Austria under Prof. Ioana Borovska. Immediately after that, he perfected his singing technique with Krassimira Stoyanova, from whom he regularly receives professional guidance.
His first engagements were at the Sofia National Opera under the direction of acad. Plamen Kartalov. After gaining experience, the doors of the Graz Opera were opened for him. From 2007 to 2009, he was a permanent member of the Maribor Opera Theater. Concert performances in Japan, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia and Bulgaria followed.
The singer's repertoire includes the roles of Nemorino from "Love Elixir" by Donizetti, Titus from "The Mercy of Titus" by Mozart, Tamino /"The Magic Flute" by Mozart/, Vladimir from "Prince Igor" by Borodin, Werther from the opera of the same name by Massenet, The Duke of Mantua /Verdi's Rigoletto/, De Griot from Massenet's Manon, Don José /Bizet's Carmen/, Gerald from Delibes' Lakmé, Alfred from Verdi's La Traviata, Ricardo from "Ball with masks" by Verdi.
Simultaneously with the many guest appearances on various stages and festivals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Milen Bozhkov received an appointment in 2008/09 at the Landestheater Coburg.
Since 2013, he is a freelancer. In 2024, Milen Bozhkov will make his debut in the role of Othello in Verdi's play of the same name, presented by the Staro Zagora Opera and with the participation of the stars Krasсimira Stoyanova and Zelko Lucic.
