Emmanuel Ivanov caught the attention of the international music community after receiving first prize at the 62nd edition of the 2019 Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy. The success of the 20-year-old musician has been followed by concert engagements in some of the most prestigious halls in the world. Part of his prize is also a solo concert at La Scala, held in 2021 without an audience due to the pandemic, but streamed online.
He was born in 1998 in Pazardzhik. His piano lessons began at the age of seven. He considers the presence of symphonic music in his childhood, especially that of Gustav Mahler, to be a key factor in his artistic development. He took his first steps in piano art with the help of Galina Daskalova in his hometown, and then worked with Prof. Atanas Kurtev. He is currently a full scholarship student at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Pascal Nemirowski and Anthony Hewitt. He participated in master classes of prominent pianists such as Dmitri Bashkirov, Kiril Gershtein, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Michel Berov, Dmitri Alekseev, Peter Donohue, etc.
Emanuil Ivanov participated in many festivals in Bulgaria, gave solo recitals in France, Japan, Italy, Germany, Austria, Cyprus, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Poland. In 2022, he made his debut in one of the most prestigious European halls - "Hercules Hall" in Munich. He played with leading orchestras in Bulgaria and Italy. Emanuil Ivanov is the winner of prizes from prestigious international competitions such as "Alessandro Casagrande", "Scriabin-Rachmaninov", "Liszt-Bartok", "Young Virtuosos", "Dinu Lipati", the "Crystal Lyre" and "Young Musician of the Year" awards ", as well as prestigious awards in Great Britain such as "Musicians' Company Silver Medal" and "Carnwath Piano Scholarship".
