Dragomir Yosifov graduated from the National Academy of Music in Sofia, where he studied conducting with Vasil Arnaudov and Dimitar Manolov and composition with Lazar Nikolov and Bozhidar Spasov. In 2003 he has awarded as the best conductor at the choir competition in Gorizia, Italy.
He also studied with composers such as A. Vieru, P.-H. Dietrich, and F. Goldman. He worked as a conductor of the famous "Prof. Vasil Arnaudov” Ruse Mixed Choir and as a chief conductor of the Bulgarian National Radio Mixed Choir. He also works with a number of orchestras and founded and managed the "Musica Nova" Ensemble in Sofia.
His compositions have been presented at numerous festivals ("Musikprotokoll", "Wien Modern", "Moscow Autumn", "eYOUrope together" in Essen, WDR "European New Music Ensembles", Bytom, Poland, "Velvet curtain" in Lviv and performed with oechestras and ensembles such as "ensemble recherché", “Agon orchestra” - Prague, "Moscow ensemble" for new music, FACE | Contemporary - Vienna, PhO - Gera, Baden Philharmonic - Baden and others. He is currently a conductor at the State Opera - Plovdiv.
