SIGNUM Saxophone Quartet and Kai Schumacher 25.10.2021
I want to tell you now about the conceptual project of great musicians who presented it at the 60th edition of the "March Music Days" as a world premiere. These are Blaz Kemperle (soprano saxophone), Hayrapet Arakelyan (alto saxophone) Alan Lujar (tenor saxophone) and Guerino Belarosa (baritone saxophone), who form the Signum Quartet, as well as the pianist Kai Schumacher. The project is called Goldberg Nights and "plays" with that part of the story of the creation of the famous composition by Johann Sebastian Bach, which includes the intention of harpsichordist Johann Gottlieb Goldberg to put to sleep his employer Count von Kaiserlink, who suffered from insomnia.
She also plays with Bach's music, of course, which magnificently and absolutely logically "packs", collects and shelters everything created after it. (It is said that Bach was sent to this earth to invent music for centuries to come and then to leave). The night gathers real and unreal thoughts, fears, torments, ecstasies or states of delusion.
