Highlights of the program of the 61st International Festival "March Music Days"

More than 600 performers from 7 countries will be guests at the March Music Days festival in 2022. Musicians from Argentina, Germany, France, Romania, Lithuania, Russia, Macedonia and Bulgaria will perform on the stage in Ruse from March 11 to 27. They will take part in a total of 19 events planned in the 61st edition of the renowned international forum.

The structure of the festival is balanced by 7 orchestral programs, 11 ensemble concerts and 1 opera performance.Highlights will be the celebrations of Ravel, Debussy, Scriabin, Oneger, L. Nikolov on the occasion of his 100th birthday and others. The program also focuses on little-known works such as Mozart's Violin and Piano Concerto, rarely performed orchestral works such as Scriabin's Second Symphony or Cornhold's Violin Concerto. Themed ensemble programs with music by Brahms and Schubert on the occasion of the 225th anniversary of the birth of the Viennese master are also planned. The participation of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra with music from Sarasate, Saint-Saens and Dvorak with soloist and conductor the virtuoso Russian violinist Sergei Krylov is especially expected.

In 2022 the first meeting of the festival audience will take place with names from the class of Simon Trpcheski, Vahan Mardirosyan, Jose Kura, Alexander Hajiyev, the young and especially famous with its extravagant crossover programs German string quartet "Vision", as well as remarkable with his international career instrumentalists Sergei Dogadin and Pavel Gomzyakov. Among the elite participants in the festival is one of the best string quartets in the world, the Modigliani Quartet.

The Romanian National Orchestra under the direction of Christian Mandal, the Sofia Philharmonic, the Sofia Soloists Chamber Orchestra, the Ruse Philharmonic, the Ruse Festival Orchestra and the Ruse State Opera with the premiere of the opera Hernani by J. Verdi. A special place in the festival poster is occupied by well-known Bulgarian musicians at home and abroad, including Svetlin Rusev, Plamena Mangova, Mincho Minchev, Emil Tabakov, Plamen Djurov, Lyudmil Angelov, Dragomir Yosifov, Ivo Venkov, Rosen Idealov, Yalena Mol Zhelev, Slav Slavchev, Tsvetelina Vasileva, Galya Simeonova, as well as the ensembles "Music New", "Frosch" and "Flautissimo".
