A glamorous finale of the International Festival "March Music Days" was the concert with the participation of the Ruse Festival Orchestra under the baton of maestro Emil Tabakov. The soloist was the virtuoso Italian pianist Alexander Gadjiev, who made a successful debut on the Bulgarian stage. The program of the evening included Classical Symphony and Concerto 1 by Sergei Prokofiev, as well as one of the most famous orchestral pieces in music literature - "Paintings from an Exhibition" by Modest Mussorgsky, orchestrated by Maurice Ravel. Before the final concert, the special issue of LIK magazine (published by BTA) was presented, tracing the history of the festival from its inception in 1961 to the present day.
"March Music Days is developing dynamically and this is another important step in its history," said Mayor Pencho Milkov. He expressed special thanks to the Director General of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency Kiril Valchev for the fact that the publication managed to resurrect a number of key events and personalities from the memory of the festival. For his part, Kiril Valchev expressed his joy that the first regular issue of LIK magazine after its restoration is published as part of the March Music Days festival. "In fact, we with LIK magazine and with its restoration are trying to answer the question of what Bulgaria's face is," he said.
"This festival brings unity of memory," said Assoc. Prof. Georgi Lozanov, editor-in-chief of the publication. He pointed out the high level of music, the exceptional personalities and the talent they carry, and the unique spirit of Ruse, as the main reasons for its permanence.
The special edition contains festival chronicles, texts from the bulletins of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, interviews with world-famous Bulgarian musicians, accompanied by archival photos from the fund of the Regional History Museum in Ruse.
The authors of the materials are the musicologist Iva Chavdarova - artistic director of MF "March Music Days" ("Financial comfort is not a guarantee of quality"), music critic Ekaterina Docheva ("Unique festival in a special city") and Yanitsa Hristova. festival over the years ”), editor of the publication.
The magazine is published under the auspices of the East-West publishing house and is distributed free of charge.
